Race Horse Champion Alysheba is Dead at 25

The champion race horse Alysheba was euthanized on Friday at an equine medical center in Lexington.  Alysheba won the Kentucky Derby in 1987 and the Breeder’s Cup Classic in 1988 (at a very dark Churchill Downs).  He was trained by Jack Van Berg and ridden mostly in his racing career by Chris McCarron.  He had just returned to America in 2008 after spending eight years in Saudi Arabia.  Check out some prints of Alysheba in his racing career below:
